A few months ago, our 14 year old daughter, Marissa, and her cousin, Rebecca, started a charity called Hearts 4 the World.
It all started a few years ago, when both of them were introduced to Haiti, first through the stories of the earthquake told firsthand by their uncle who was there in the aftermath to serve and then later, when Marissa personally went there.
As they contemplated what God wanted them to do, they were convicted of the need for The Bible to reach not only Haiti, but the world. And so Hearts4theWorld was born.
The next question was: how to raise the money? That is when they thought of the Bottlecap. By carefully crafting quality necklaces, keychains, and magnets out of bottlecaps, they are able to sell something worthwhile, while raising money for a good cause.
So far, they have raised $600, giving them enough funds to send the first order of Creole Bibles on their way. You can read more at their website hearts4theworld.net There you can support them by becoming a Facebook fan or by clicking on their Etsy store link and making a purchase.
Needless to say, I am quite proud of both of them :)
