Summer Berry Trifle

Pin It Now!

Do you need a last minute dessert for the holiday weekend? This is really easy and tastes delicious! I couldn't find this posted anywhere else, so I am posting it here. We based this loosely on another recipe we found and came up with this one. My daughter is the one who actually put it together and it was yummy!

INGREDIENTS:
2-3 quarts of mixed berries (we used strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries)
1 angel food cake (home-made, from a box, or ready-made from the store)

For filling--
 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 (8 oz) cream cheese
1 tub of Cool Whip (or 12 oz whipped cream)
1 tsp vanilla

1. Set aside a few berries as garnish for the top of the trifle. And then mix remaining berries together (slicing strawberries first). Add a bit of sugar, if desired.
2. Mix powdered sugar and cream cheese together in a large bowl until creamy. Fold in the cool whip and vanilla.
3. Cut the cake into cubes.
4. Layer into trifle bowl (or other clear bowl) in this order: cake, filling, berries. End with filling.
5. Arrange your final layer of berries on top.

Enjoy! Happy 4th of July!
